Our "Yard of the Season" For Autumn Of 2026

Recognizing John and Jane Doe of Buckwood Drive

A SHOWCASE OF TIMELESS FLORIDA DESIGN

Our Yard of the Season exemplifies the beauty of classic Central Florida landscaping through a masterful combination of mature canopy trees, formal evergreen plantings, vibrant turfgrass, and meticulous maintenance.  The landscape is anchored by a magnificent Southern Live Oak (Quercus virginiana), with a well-maintained ring of Asiatic Jasmine (Trachelospermum asiaticum).  Surrounding the home is an expertly maintained St. Augustine lawn (Stenotaphrum secundatum). Adding structure and elegance to the landscape are neatly clipped evergreen hedges of Dwarf Yaupon Holly (Ilex vomitoria 'Nana'), which define the garden beds and create crisp lines throughout the property. These formal hedges guide visitors along the attractive brick walkways while providing year-round color and texture.  Vertical accents near the home's facade are created by Podocarpus (Podocarpus macrophyllus), whose upright growth habit adds height and visual interest while complementing the more rounded shrub forms throughout the landscape. Contrasting beautifully against the lush green foliage is a striking border of Loropetalum (Loropetalum chinense), whose rich burgundy leaves provide color and depth to the foundation plantings.  The landscape's layered design is further enhanced by rounded evergreen shrubs of Indian Hawthorn (Rhaphiolepis indica), contributing texture and seasonal visual interest. Along the property's perimeter, dense Viburnum (Viburnum odoratissimum or Walter's Viburnum) hedges provide privacy while forming a verdant backdrop for the front garden.  Colorful ornamental plantings near the entryway, including tropical accents such as Crotons and other seasonal flowering plants, add vibrant touches that draw attention to the home's welcoming front porch.

Congratulations to our Yard of the Season winners for creating a stunning example of Florida landscape excellence and neighborhood pride!
