RESTORE OUR CANOPY

The Official Initiative To Plant 100 Live Oaks Throughout Soaks

Let’s bring back the shade that once defined our beautiful community! Twenty years after the devastating 2004 hurricane season stripped away our historic canopy, it is finally time to reclaim our streets and plant for the future. We are launching an  initiative to plant 100 new Live Oaks, restoring the majestic, cool archways that used to shield every single sidewalk from the Florida sun.

To make this a reality, we have partnered with top-tier preferred vendors to offer mature, stunning live oaks at discounted prices. Alternatively you can request a free tree through the City of Orlando’s Live Oak program. While other tree species have their place, what our neighborhood truly needs right now is the unmatched strength, longevity, and beauty of the iconic Live Oak.

We are calling on every neighbor to join the movement, maximize our canopy, and even work with the city to remove and replace less impactful trees on the street-side berms with these leafy giants. Planting a Live Oak today is the single best way to supercharge our local ecosystem, improve our quality of life, and leave a beautiful legacy for generations to come. Let’s get planting!

While the City of Orlando offers free Live Oaks at the link below, we will be providing options to purchase more mature Live Oaks from a supplier to give our canopy a big head start.

Please remember, while other species of trees like magnolias and maples may be beautiful accent trees to your landscaping, only Live Oaks will give our community a large and long lasting canopy.
